Kootenai Pets for Life monthly minutes for September 10th, 2018

The meeting was held at 6:00 pm at the Flathead Valley Community College

Attending: Eileen Carney, Connie Holthaus, Susan Bulyar, Lynn Hagarty, Carol McAllister, Bobby McCanse, Edwina Smith, Marge Sullivan and Lois Ziegler

The reading of the minutes from the August13th 2018 meeting began at 6:00 pm. The minutes were approved as read.

The bills for September totaled $1,984.11 in operating costs and $2,956.72 for vet bills, meds and help with neutering. Carol McAllister made a motion to pay the bills and Lynn Hagarty 2nd the motion. The bills have been paid.

Shelter Report and New Business:

Old dog houses will be given away or we will take donations for them. Dorsey is still working on the social media pages.

Dog problem “Kopi” bit one of the shelter workers. Animal Control was contacted; Derry Berry – Deputy had no equipment to handle the situation. Dr. Conkel was contacted and told KPFL the dog needed to be euthanized but “Kopi” needed to be quarantined for 10 days. Animal Control came to Shelter and the dog was put down. Edwina and Bobby will contact the new sheriff about training, equipment and county health. A motion made by Lois Ziegler that Eileen Carney will call Darren Short; Marge Sullivan 2nd the motion. The motion carried.

Network for Good: $1,230.00 Mr. Andreason worked on this site and it was started to assist in raising funds for Rolly when surgery was needed.

Old Business:

Laura Tindall was nominated as treasurer. Then Laura was elected as treasurer; congratulations Laura.

Library event – September 10th; very successful will update in the future.

Update on “Rolly” – “Rolly” doing well. Still in foster care until totally healed.

Eileen Carney made the motion to adjourn. Marge Sullivan 2nd the motion. The motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:15 pm. The next meeting will be on Monday October 8th, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Flathead Valley Community College.

The reading of the minutes from the September 10th , 2018 meeting began at 6:00 pm. The minutes were approved as read.

The bills for October totaled $1,946.25 in operating costs (S1) including BWB meal $725.00 and Hall $300.00 (VFW) and (S2.1) $3,440.00 for vet bills and MWI Animal Health etc. Eileen Carney made a motion to pay the bills and Susan Bulyar 2nd the motion. The motion passed and the bills will be paid.

Adoptions in October so far were 18 animals. There are 3 dogs in the shelter. 27 cats are in the shelter.

The local Boy Scouts helped with filling water glasses, clearing place settings and helping clean-up in the kitchen. Thank You Ron Thatcher (leader), Frank Votapka and the Scouts.

KPFL received the Grant request from Lincoln County Community Foundation ($500.00)

The bill is in the mail for our insurance payment re: Glacier Insurance
