Laura gave the Treasurer’s Report. We are in need of more funds and it is essential that we limit our spending. Laura presented the following recommendations.

  • A. Reduce spending to only essentials: Food, cleaning supplies, medical supplies, and pellets until we come to at least break even.
  • B. No treats for cats other than donations.
  • C. No treats for dogs other than large box of treats and any donated treats.
  • D. Purchase only disposable gloves.
  • E. No new dog or cat collars.
  • F. No new dog or cat toys.
  • G. As agreed at prior board meeting, purchases will be local unless not available locally.

Edwina made a motion that we adopt the recommendations until further notice, seconded by Marge, voted on and passed.

Connie said she and Anita had picked up money from banks around town and also received money from Vintage Collectable.

We discussed buying advertising on radio or newspapers and it was decided we do not have the money to do either. No paid advertising.

A Shelter Networking even will be held in Kalispell. Bobbi, Edwina and Lynn will attend,

Discussion was held on how we can take pictures of cats as they arrive to facilitate identification. No decision was made

Lynn has talked to the Flathead Humane Shelter and they will take Karma, blue heeler /pitt mix young dog that we have in exchange for Bandy, and oder German Shepherd. Both have been unable to find the right person and it is felt that in the exchange they would both be exposed to new people more likely to be interested. Lynn and Edwina will coordinate this.

The next meeting will be Monday June 10 at 5 o’clock. Connie will find a place to hold the meeting as the College will be closed. She will send out a notice when she finds one.
